What Is Excelerate?
Excelerate exists to propel forward your transformation holistically within the Substance community.
Our goal is to create the next generation of elite leaders that can fulfill the call God has on their lives by providing training and experience in leadership. Rather than being birthed from a meeting or brainstorming session, the Excelerate Leadership Program was founded by Mark Mellen and a group of interns who desired to transform their community by empowering leaders within the church to accomplish the goal of healing the broken and provide loving, authentic community through the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The principles and experiences taught in this program are specifically designed to create successful leaders in both the arenas of ministry and secular business.
Excelerate is an extension of the culture of Substance Church and acts as the driving engine of the organization. Substance is a 7 year old church plant with 8 services at 4 locations. 70% of the congregation is under the age of 30. We have over 2500 weekly attenders, 200+ small groups (with OVER 2500 regular attenders), 1200+ volunteers, and 20 ministry teams that enable us to integrate our church attenders into the community rapidly. All Excelerate interns play a vital role in the operation and organization of all ministries of Substance; essentially, Excelerate interns take on the leadership and pastoral roles of staff at Substance Church. From small groups ministry to campus ministry to worship, Excelerate interns are trained on the job by some of the most dynamic leaders in the church today.
