Vision:

To see the lives of youth radically changed  by the power of God through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  It is our desire to see youth set free from sin (rom. 6:6) and living in accordance to the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:5)

Mission:

(Matt. 28:19) To make disciples through passionate worship, relevant Holy-Spirit inspired teaching, and loving community.  

Goals and Values

Community-

At Verve we believe that joy is relational.  True happiness and fulfillment come when a person has an intimate relationship with God, as well as intimate Christian friends who are committed to do life beside them.

Refuge-

Verve will be a safe haven and a fortress for youth who are dealing with troubled home situations.  We are committed to providing a compassionate and caring environment where youth can have someone to talk to and pray with. 

We also desire to provide a place where non-believers feel welcomed and not condemned. (Romans 8:1) If a person has never received spiritual life through Christ how can they be expected to follow God’s moral standards?  They can’t and they can’t be expected to; this is why we all need Christ.  We want to reach the unreachable, and draw in youth who would typically not feel comfortable in church by loving them the way Jesus does.

Personal Revelation-

We desire to provide youth with an environment where they will have an opportunity to encounter Jesus Christ for themselves.  It is simply not enough for the gospel of Christ to be relayed as second hand information, youth must have a personal revelation of the love of God to truly be transformed.

Verve is designed to be a place where youth can make their faith their own not relying on parents or pastors for their relationship with God, but experiencing the power of God first hand.

Purpose

Our purpose at Verve is to know God and make Him known.  We desire to Glorify God in all we do and to live a lifestyle of worship by worshipping God in spirit and in truth (John 4:23).  Verve is designed  to build a community of youth that are passionate God chasers who have a burning desire to reach the lost and hurting that are all around them and are empowered by the Holy Spirit to do so (Acts 1:8). 

We are committed to teaching the truths of the gospel, not sacrificing truth for relevance, but rather relying on the Power of God to transform the lives of all who hear it(1 Corinthians 2:4), knowing His word will not return to him void(Isaiah 55:11). 

Reach->Dig->Send

Everything we do at here at Verve, whether it’s small group time in “Crews”, passionate times of worship, relevant teachings, or DJ/party nights, we do with a purpose in mind.

We truly believe that we can be a more powerful and effective movement if everything we do is focused and intentional; instead of haphazardly putting forth effort with no clear purpose in mind.

It is out of this type of thinking that we have outlined the purposes we want our efforts to be accomplishing.  We have three main purposes here at verve. They function as a continuum that students are continually moving forward on and they are:

Reach->Dig->Send

Reach

Our first purpose on the continuum is to reach.  We want to focus our actions, events, and services on first and foremost reaching the youth who do not know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior.

Dig

The second focus on the continuum is to dig.  Once a youth has been reached with the Gospel of Jesus, or if they already have a relationship with Him, we want to provide them with an environment and opportunities that encourage and challenge them to dig deeper in their faith.

Send

Our final destination on the continuum is to send.  We want to send (or commission) youth when it is time for them to take on leadership or ministry of their own, or graduate on to a new stage in their life.
